Notre Dame - 7 (-105)
Welcome to this weeks addition edition of Action on the Irish! We're back on Notre Dame again as they march in to Raleigh to take on the NC State Wolfpack who come fresh off a road win against Uconn. Both teams should stick to their running ways in this one, through 2 weeks the ND offense is running 56.14% of the time and last week NC State handed the ball off a whopping 46 times! This is where I believe the Irish hold the advantage.
Last week NC State gave up 7.47 yds/carry to Uconn. Uconn has a solid run game, but they are not Audric Estime & Co with this ND O line who are currently ripping off 6 yds/carry to start the season.
While taking into consideration their competition, the Irish defense is stuffing the run game with opponents only averaging 2.6 yds/carry through 96 carries (a very good sample size through 2 games).
On the offensive side, Sam Hartman has got his South Bend campaign started on the right foot to the tune of a 225.5 QBR & 0 interceptions. I think his quality play continues and the Irish cover for the 3rd straight week to start the year.
