Under 48.5 Ohio/San Diego St (-110)
The Bobcats head to the birthplace of California to take on the Aztecs bringing our 1st total play of the year. With this play I zeroed in on both teams run game and defensive play based on last years stats (#'s based off all D1).
Both teams ran the ball more than 50% of the time while also showing some strength on D. The 3 defensive stats that caught my eye for each team are:
Both teams were in the Top 65 (D1) in OPP 3rd Down Conversion [OH 63 (38.82%), SD 38 (35.76%)
Both teams were in the top 60 (D1) in Points Against [OH 57 (26.5 pts), SD 22 (21.7 pts)
Both teams were in the top 31 (D1) in Forced Turnovers per Game [OH 14 (1.8 TO), SD 31 (1.8 TO) | It should be noted Ohio did a good job of taking care of the rock averaging .08 Turnovers per Game which is good for Top 15 (D1). San Diego St did not do as well averaging 1.9 Turnovers per Game.
I don't prefer to use stats from last year so I tend to tread a little lighter early on in the year. With that said, it's what we have available!
